It can be devastating to lose the ability to speak clearly or communicate effectively with family, friends, or caregivers. Because speech is the cornerstone of communication, SongShine FoundationTM is committed to improving the lives of people with neurologically compromised speech through low or no cost music-based vocal therapy. Whether you have Parkinson's disease, have had a stroke, have other neurological disorders, or simply an aging voice, we WELCOME you. SongShine is designed to be a positive learning experience. It is an opportunity to allow music to lift your spirit, touch your heart, release memories, and strengthen your speaking voice. SongShine provides a supportive and interactive community created for you. SongShine is not intended to replace scientifically based traditional medicine, regular visits to your doctor, traditional speech therapy, or physical therapy. SongShine was developed from information gleaned throughout forty-plus years of teaching voice, reading, working with speech pathologists and otolaryngologists, and exploring ideas with colleagues. It is my hope that being a part of the SongShine family will give you a greater appreciation for the joy and healing power or music. Click here for the story behind SongShine's beginning.
